A Mass intention is a special way to honor or remember a loved one — living or deceased — through the celebration of the Holy Mass. At St. Gertrude parishioners and others are invited to request a Mass to be offered for the intentions of loved ones who are recently deceased or on special dates of anniversaries or birthdays of those living or as a way of remembering our beloved dead.

To request a Mass intention, please call or visit the parish office during office hours. Intentions are scheduled based on availability, and the customary offering is $20. If you’d like to remember your family member or friend for a week, a bread and wine memorial is available for an offering of $50. Once scheduled, the intention will be announced at Mass and will be published in the parish bulletin. The Mass Intention Book is typically open just after Easter for the following year.

Offering a Mass intention is a meaningful and comforting spiritual gift, uniting your prayers with the sacrifice of the Mass and entrusting your intentions to God’s grace.
