The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) is a Catholic lay organization that encourages people to join together in spiritual growth and service by offering person-to-person services to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, Blessed Frederic Ozanam and its patron, St. Vincent de Paul. Our volunteers serve as advocates for the poor, seeking to discover the root causes of poverty and to remedy its effects. Here at St. Gertrude’s our Vincentians seek guidance by the Spirit and hope to grow in holiness and friendship with each other as we try to address the basic human essentials of our neighbors in need – including housing, heat, food and clothing. We meet on the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm in the Parish Center. We always welcome new members. Please call or email 516-490-8793 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
