Do you feel called to proclaim the Word of God during Mass? We are always in need of good lectors to read the Scriptures and the Announcements at Mass. The lector serves the needs of God's family gathered to be nourished with his Word. The lector's ministry demands far more than the ability to read well in public or a technically correct reading. Through prayerful preparation, lectors open themselves to the Holy Spirit that through the Grace of God they may offer a faithfilled proclamation that communicates the intellectual, emotional and aesthetic content of the reading, thereby making the Word come alive to the community. Such proclamation serves to nourish and strengthen the faith of the worshiping community

Like ministers of Holy Communion, prospective lectors should contact the pastor or the rectory office to request participating in this ministry. Training is provided by the Diocese in Spring and Fall.
