Altar servers assist the clergy at weekend and special Masses (examples: Holy Week Services, Christmas, and others). Boys and girls are encouraged to assist the priest on the altar during Mass, in hopes of gaining a deeper experience of the Mass. Servers (from grade 3 and up) must have received the Catholic sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in order to become a member of this ministry.

Guidance and training will be provided. Altar servers will learn the names of the sacred vessels and how they are used. Servers’ families are emailed schedules from the office and will be asked to serve at least once a month. See Dr. Sheehan during religious ed classes or after a Sunday Mass
